07/04/2014 - The tiny Waiheke Island (New Zealand) hides an unimaginable treasure inside: a couple of hectares of irrigation olive groves cultivated with care and attention by its owners, John and Margaret Edwards, an adorable couple whose love affair with extra virgin oil olive emerged during their frequent visits to Spain and other Mediterranean countries in the 60s. 06/27/2014 - Spanish representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Magrama) and the olive sector held yesterday in Madrid the first meeting of the Sectoral Committee on Olive Oil and Table Olives to analyze the market situation, from the data provided by the Information Agency and Food Control (AICA). At the meeting, all those present confirmed the good performance of the of olive oil commercialization, especially through export.

06/25/2014 - Consumption of olive oil in Spanish homes climbed a slight 0.3% year on year (yoy) in April to 35.66 million liters, while spending on this product stood at 96.03 million euros, 7.46% less than the same month of 2013, according to the latest data from Food Consumption Panel of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Magrama).

24/06/2014 - A research study conducted in mice affected by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a degenerative neuromuscular disease, shows that, after ingestion of an enriched with extra virgin olive oil diet, rich in unsaturated fatty acids, all of them show improvements in the engine and muscle behavior and increase their survival rate.
