2016/12/01 - According to a research work developed within the Olive, Olive Oil and Health MBA -developed under the scientific prescription of professor and strategic consultant Juan Vilar, within the line of investigation "Competitiveness and traditional olive" that he directs-, global production of olive oil in the current season will exceed 2.9 million tons, which means a drop in productivity per hectare (from 285 to 256 kg. on average) of just over 10%.
2017/11/01 - 2017 marks the California Olive Oil Council’s 25th year in pursuit of its mission. Since its establishment by a group of dedicated farmers in 1992, the COOC has grown to represent over 90% of the olive oil production in California.
2016/09/01 - In its latest market report, the International Olive Council (IOC) has analyzed the evolution of imports of olive oil by the United States in the past 20 years regarding the most consumed oil category and the type of packaging. According to this report, the US has gone from importing 84% in containers of less than 18 kg. in 1995/96 to 57.6% in 2015/16, so during this period bottled containers lost 28.4 points and bulk containers went from 16% to 42.4%.

2017/03/01 - UC Davis (California, USA) will host next January 17th a Symposium about the future of California’s olive oil industry.

2016/29/12 - The new International Agreement on olive oil and table olives, which was adopted by consensus at the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva last year, will enter into force on 1 January.
