2019, a year full of agri-food fairs of great interest to the olive sector

2019/01/03 - We begin 2019 by reviewing the national and international agricultural, food fairs and events that will be held throughout this new year and which are interesting for olive oil companies to present their products, increase or consolidate their sales, access new markets and recognize EVOO as a key product of the Mediterranean Diet.

At the international level, the first one will be the Winter Fancy Food Show, which will be held between January 13 and 15 in San Francisco (United States), followed by Olio Nuovo Days and the International Scientific Meeting on Olive Oil (Ismoo), which will take place from January 16 to 19 in Paris; Sirha Lyon, from January 26 to 30 in Lyon (France); and Olio Officina Festival, from January 31 to February 2 in Milan (Italy).

The Fira de l'Oli de Qualitat Verge Extra will be held from January 18 to January 20 in Lleida; Fitur, from 23 to 27 January in Madrid; Agroexpo, from 23 to 26 January in Don Benito (Badajoz); Gastrofestival, from 10 to 23 February in Madrid; Reale Seguros Madrid Fusion, from January 28 to 30; and Agraria, from January 30 to February 2 in Valladolid.

In February, the International Gastronomic Tourism Fair will take place in Spain, from 6 to 10 in Orense; and Oleomaq-Oleotec, from February 26 to March 1 in Zaragoza; and outside Spain highlight Extra Lucca (from 9 to 11 in Lucca, Italy), Biofach (from 13 to 16 in Nuremberg, Germany), Prodexpo (from 11 to 15 in Moscow, Russia), EVOO Days (from 11 to 12 in Verona, Italy), Supermarket Trade Show (from 13 to 15 in Mihama, Japan), Enoliexpo (from 21 to 23 in Bari, Italy), Sima-Simagena (from 24 to 28 in Paris, France) and Gulfood (from 26 from February to March 2 in Dubai).

In March the A Coruña Gastronomic Forum (from 10 to 12 in A Coruña), Biocultura Sevilla (from 22 to 24 in Seville) and the World Olive Oil Exhibition (from 27 to 28 in Madrid) will arrive; while internationally Foodex Japan (from March 5 to 8 in Tokyo, Japan), ExpoAntad and Alimentaria Mexico (from 5 to 7 in Guadalajara, Mexico), Expo West (from 6 to 9 in California, United States), Olivtech (from 6 to 9 in Izmir, Turkey), World Food Warsaw (from 7 to 9 in Warsaw, Poland), Pitti Taste (from 9 to 11 in Florence, Italy), Olio Capitale (from 15 to 19 in Trieste, Italy ), Food Expo (from 16 to 18 in Athens, Greece), IFE London (from 17 to 20 in London, England), NRA Show (from 18 to 21 in Chicago, United States) and Alimentaria and Horexpo Lisboa (from 24 to 26 in Lisbon, Portugal).

On the other hand, April will also host important national and international events such as the Salon de Gourmets (between 8 and 11 in Madrid), Med Mag Oliva (from 3 to 6 in Algiers, Algeria), Gourmet Exhibition (from 6 to 8 in Thessaloniki, Greece), SOL&Agrifood (from 7 to 10 in Verona, Italy), Med Mag Oliva (from 10 to 13 in Susa, Tunisia), Cibus Connect (from 10 to 11 in Parma, Italy), Luxe Pack Shanghai (from 10 to 11 in Shanghai, China), SIAM (from 23 to 28 in Meknes, Morocco), Ovibeja (from 24 to 28 in Beja, Portugal) and SIAL Canada (from April 30 to May 2 in Toronto, Canada).

May will also have a strong international accent with fairs of great interest to the sector such as Tutto Food and GlassPack (from 6 to 9 in Milan, Italy), SIAL China (from 14 to 16 in Shanghai, China), Olive Oil Kansai (from 14 to 16 in Osaka, Japan), Luxe Pack New York (from 15 to 16 in New York, United States), PLMA (from 21 to 22 in Amsterdam, Holland), Seoul Food and Hotel (from 21 to 24 in Seoul, Korea of the South) and Thaifex (from May 28 to June 1 in Bangkok, Thailand). In Spain and as every odd year in this month will take place Expoliva (from May 15 to 18 in Jaén), as well as Biocultura Barcelona (from 9 to 12 in Barcelona) and MeetingPack (from 29 to 30 in Valencia).

Also, the summer season will come with appointments already confirmed as Organic Food Iberia (from June 6 to 7 in Madrid), Iran Food and Hospitality (from June 18 to 21 in Tehran, Iran), Summer Fancy Food Show, to be held between June 23 and 26 in New York, Speciality and Fine Food Asia (from July 17 to 19 in Singapore), Food and Hotel Indonesia (from July 24 to 27 in Jakarta, Indonesia) and Vietfood and Beverage (from August 7 to 10 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam).

Other key fairs in the last months of the year will be Andalucía Sabor (from September 23 to September 25 in Seville), Biocultura Valencia (from September 27 to 29 in Valencia), Speciality & Fine Food Fair (from September 1 to 3 in London, England); Fine Food Australia (September 9 to 12 in Sydney, Australia); SIMEI (from September 11 to 15 in Munich, Germany), Gourmet Selection (from September 22 to 23 in Paris, France), Salon Alina Bordeaux (from 24 to 26 September in Bordeaux, France), World Food Moscow (from 24 to 27 September in Moscow, Russia); Luxe Pack Monaco (from September 30 to October 2 in Monaco); and Anuga (from October 5 to 9 in Paris, France).

Finally, in November, Biocultura Madrid will take place (from November 7 to 10 in Madrid); Empack, Packaging Innovations, Label and Print and Logistics (from 13 to 14 November in Madrid); Hospitality Qatar (from 5 to 7 in Qatar, Doha), Worlds of Flavor (day 6 in Napa Valley, California), Foodex Saudi (from 11 to 14 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), Food and Hotel China (from 12 to 14 in Shanghai, China), Nordic Organic Food Fair (from 13 to 14 in Malmoe, Sweden); Simei (from 19 to 22 in Milan, Italy); and Sitevi (from 26 to 28 in Montpellier, France).
