2015/10/15 - The California Olive Oil Council (COOC) is estimating a record-breaking production of 4 million gallons of California extra virgin olive oil for the 2015 harvest, eclipsing 2014’s production of 2.4 million gallons. The increase marks an unprecedented year of growth for the state’s burgeoning olive oil industry, which continues to increase annual production.
2015/14/10 - The European Commission will invest almost €16 billion in research and innovation in the next two years under Horizon 2020, the EU's research and innovation funding scheme, following a new Work Programme for 2016-17 adopted today. The new Work Programme will also build on successes in health research by investing €5 million to respond to the critical outbreak of the damaging olive-tree pest Xylella fastidiosa.

2015/07/10 - Anuga, which is being held in Cologne from 10 to 14 October 2015, is completely fully-booked. Spanning 248,000 m², the entire hall capacity of Koelnmesse, which is the fifth largest fair grounds in the world, is booked up to the very last square centimetre. More than 7,000 suppliers from over 100 countries are expected at the fair.

2015/30/09 - The Spanish Association of Olive Municipalities (AEMO) held this morning in Cordoba its Extraordinary National Assembly in which, as is mandatory every four years, has been appointed new Board. Specifically, Ana María Romero, mayor of Montoro (Córdoba), will be the new president of the Association bearing the vice presidency in the councils of Jaen, Sevilla and Tarragona.
