The EVOOLEUM Guide receives the "New Publication of the Year" Award

The EVOOLEUM World's TOP100 Extra Virgin Olive Oils Guide has been awarded with the "New Publication of the Year" Prize in the eleventh edition of the Spanish Association of Periodical Publishers (AEEPP) Awards, one of the sector's most prestigious competitions in Spain.

Presented by Carlos Astiz, CEO of AEEPP, the awards ceremony was organized by the AEEPP, with the sponsorship of the Telefónica Group and with the technical assistance of Nexo Group, being held yesterday in the Auditorium of the Real Casa de Correos, official headquarters of the Autonomous Community of Madrid.

The jury has taken into consideration the innovative nature of all publications, works or publishers who, individually, submit their applications. They have also valued their contribution to raise the quality of the media sector and the adaptation of the publishing companies to the digital changes present in an immediate future.

The EVOOLEUM Guide of the 100 Best EVOOs in the world recognized at the EVOOLEUM Awards, the International Awards for the Quality of Extra Virgin Olive Oil organized by Mercacei and the Spanish Association of Municipalities of the Olive Tree (AEMO), was described in the award ceremony by Carlos Astiz as an "authentic printed jewel." Juan A. Peñamil, publisher of the Guide, was in charge of picking up this prize which was given last year to the well-known magazine Tapas, of Spain Media, responsible for other prestigious publications such as Esquire, Forbes, L'Officiel and Robb Report.

The EVOOLEUM Guide -which has a printed version published in Spanish and English and also an app- is distributed in the main international fairs and competitions of the olive and gastronomic sector, as well as in gourmet and delicatessen establishments, bookstores, supermarkets and specialized book stores spread across the five continents.

The "2017 Publishers Awards" have recognized a total of 20 companies or communication professionals, among them the National Archaeological Museum, the Aladina Foundation, ONCE or the Procter & Gamble agency.

It is worth highlithting that Olivatessen by Mercacei received the Prize for Internationalization in the previous edition of this contest.

The AEEPP is an independent business association that is made up of more than 130 groups and publishing companies, which publish more than 1,000 magazines, covering all topics and sectors of all periodicities and on all channels and media (printed, digital...), with joint releases exceeding 500 million copies per year and an estimated audience of 125 million readers each month. It is one of the associations with the largest scope of representation within the publishing sector.

EVOOLEUM Awards 2017
Yesterday, February 28th, we closed the registration period for the second edition of the EVOOLEUM International Awards which ended with an exceptional and promising balance. The volume of samples presented has been increased by 25%, hosting EVOOs from new countries such as Germany, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Tunisia.

Next week, during the days 9 to 12 of March, Córdoba will host the tasting to select the 100 extra virgins that will be part of the 2017 edition of the EVOOLEUM World's TOP100 Extra Virgin Olive Oils Guide. In this meeting one of the best groups of tasters ever assembled will get together, conformed by the most prestigious experts at international level, which makes this contest the most objective, rigorous and reliable in the world.
