Pitti Taste, an event to promote the excellence and culture of Italian quality EVOO

2016/09/03 - From Saturday 12 to Monday 14 March 2016, Pitti Immagine presents the 11th edition of PITTI TASTE, the fair dedicated to excellence in taste, Italian lifestyle and table design.
Boosted by the experience and success accumulated during its first 10 years, the next edition of Pitti Taste will be celebrating and building on the journey that has led it to become the Italian salon dedicated to quality food and drink, the place where the world’s finest in the field of haute gastronomie get together, and the reference event for the ever-growing and enthusiastic audience of foodies.

The result of Pitti Immagine’s collaboration with Gastronaut Davide Paolini, Pitti Taste will be held at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence and will present the products and the latest ideas submitted by over 340 companies (up on the 320 which attended last year) selected from amongst the best niche and specialist producers of excellence from all over Italy. A journey surrounded by food, wine, objects and ideas, a discovery tour of the many ways we express and experiment with taste today: between tradition and innovation, trends and schools of thought, professional techniques and equipment, food & kitchen design. With a special space at the end of the itinerary - the Taste Shop- where it is possible to buy the products on display.

THIS EDITION’S THEME AND THE NEW EXHIBITION SPACES
The lively, colorful atmosphere of a country festival, with bright lights and green installations. A kind of modern Greasy Pole: This is the theme of the new layout - by Alessandro Moradei – with which Pitti Taste will immerse its public of sector professionals and visitors in the exhibitors’ products and the new features for this edition. An enthralling and surprising itinerary will liven up the spaces in the Stazione Leopolda, the Alcatraz (which, from this edition, will be integrated into the Taste Tour route), and the brand new Teatro dell’Opera location, the forecourt and foyer of which will host Taste events and projects for the first time.

“Taste presents new ideas and new challenges at every edition”, says Agostino Poletto, deputy general manager of Pitti Immagine, “Now in its eleventh edition it shows that it is still growing in terms of the number of participating companies – with some excellent names in Italian food and wine production - as well as in terms of the exhibition spaces: in fact, for the first time the Alcatraz area in the Stazione Leopolda will be transformed into an exhibition route, and an even more significant new feature is the involvement of the new Teatro dell’Opera which will be connected to the Leopolda and will host the Taste Rings and some special projects. So Taste is opening on a high note, whilst continuing to keep a careful eye on selection and quality, essential ingredients of its winning recipe. And this edition offers a new challenge with the event dedicated to the diversities and emerging scenarios of international food. Because whilst the flavor of Taste is all Italian, it has always looked towards faraway lands”.
